The Story Behind the Northwest Wine Salon in Copenhagen
The focus was on the wine regions of Washington State and Oregon, aiming to highlight the diversity, quality, and unique characteristics of the northwestern U.S. wine industry to 60 selected sommeliers, on-trade professionals, importers, and media representatives in Denmark. A total of 20 wineries from Washington State and Oregon participated.
The event was designed to create a dynamic and engaging tasting experience, allowing guests to explore the wines in depth while meeting the producers face-to-face. With wineries from both states represented, the setting encouraged dialogue and provided an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the wines' character and origins. The structured tasting session offered attendees a broad presentation of the region’s wines while allowing them to learn directly from the winemakers.
Following the tasting, the event transitioned into a more relaxed setting with “social food,” where the same wines remained available. This format encouraged continued discussions and networking, allowing guests to further immerse themselves in the flavors and stories behind the wines. The evening concluded with a “beer hour,” featuring specialty brews from the same northwestern U.S. regions, offering a final glimpse into the area’s diverse beverage culture.
Among the 20 participating wineries were both established producers with existing Danish importers and those seeking new partnerships. This mix created a dynamic atmosphere, giving guests a comprehensive perspective on the region’s potential while providing wineries with valuable opportunities to connect with the Danish wine industry.
